Kid­nap­pers hold­ing Cou­va busi­ness­man Gwain Jones hostage have re­port­ed­ly de­mand­ed $200,000 and a bag of mar­i­jua­na for the man's safe re­lease. The T&T Guardian learnt yes­ter­day that around 5.50 pm on Sat­ur­day, Jones's rel­a­tives were con­tact­ed by the kid­nap­pers who made the ran­som de­mand. Jones, 25, of Old South­ern Main Road, McBean, Cou­va, was snatched from his home on Fri­day af­ter­noon. Po­lice re­ports state that around 3.30 pm, three armed men stormed in­to Jones's au­to­care cen­tre, lo­cat­ed at his home, and grabbed him. They bun­dled him in­to a black car and sped off. Rel­a­tives have de­clined speak­ing with the me­dia. Of­fi­cers of the An­ti-Kid­nap­ping Squad are con­tin­u­ing in­ves­ti­ga­tions.
