Kidnappers holding Couva businessman Gwain Jones hostage have reportedly demanded $200,000 and a bag of marijuana for the man's safe release. The T&T Guardian learnt yesterday that around 5.50 pm on Saturday, Jones's relatives were contacted by the kidnappers who made the ransom demand. Jones, 25, of Old Southern Main Road, McBean, Couva, was snatched from his home on Friday afternoon. Police reports state that around 3.30 pm, three armed men stormed into Jones's autocare centre, located at his home, and grabbed him. They bundled him into a black car and sped off. Relatives have declined speaking with the media. Officers of the Anti-Kidnapping Squad are continuing investigations.
