The Arima Town Hall on Sorzano Street was transformed into an art gallery last Monday as artist Richard Martinez and some of his students displayed their work. The exhibition is part of the 123rd anniversary of the Chartered Borough of Arima.Fourteen artists combined their recent work for the opening of the week-long display. Mayor Ghassan Youseph seized the opportunity at the exhibition opening to mention that a date for the replacement of the historic Arima Dial would be announced in due course.
He added: "We want to make sure that it is done correctly and it would be something that everyone would be proud to look at."He said that vehicles heading south on Queen Street must either head west onto Broadway or go in an anti-clockwise direction around the Dial, if they wish to proceed further down Queen Street.Youseph explained: "There would be a strict no-parking enforcement on Queen Street, once the Dial is replaced."
