The build-up to Mi­a­mi Car­ni­val has be­gun. The Car­ni­val takes place on Sun­day, Oc­to­ber 9, on the streets of Mi­a­mi Gar­dens. Twen­ty bands will pa­rade in fin­ery as well as six steel­bands. How­ev­er, on Thurs­day, Oc­to­ber 6, the ca­lyp­so and so­ca monarch fi­nals com­pe­ti­tions takes cen­trestage at 8 pm, with Re­porter, Pi­coplate, Gi­ant, Cross Check and Sling Shot fac­ing off in what is ex­pect­ed to be a bat­tle royale. Dex­ter Keane and Mista David, along with Mys­tique and em­cee Tom­my Joseph fill the guest slots. Dex­ter and Mista David are ex­pect­ed to un­leash the 2012 sin­gle Roll Call. Singers will all be backed by Kemistre the Band.

This Saga Boy In­ter­na­tion­al pro­duc­tion takes place at the Joseph Caleb Cen­tre Au­di­to­ri­um, Mi­a­mi, Flori­da. There is no sleep as the ac­tion con­tin­ues on Sat­ur­day, Oc­to­ber 8, at two venues for Sweet Lime and Bac­cha­nal in the Park. From 3 pm - 11 pm, Ben­jai, Rik­ki Jai, Michelle Xavier, Case­ly and Quote will mount the stage to show off their wears at Hol­ly­wood Park, Young Cir­cle, Flori­da. Al­so on the bill are Kes the Band and Kar­ma at the Sweet Lime Par­ty at the Ware­house Ball­room, Lan­der­hill, Flori­da. This do be­gins at 2 pm and there will al­so be two dee­jays in the house.
