Selwyn "Robocop" Alexis will be heading to the High Court soon to face a 2008 murder charge. Yesterday, prosecutor George Busby said the State would be proceeding by way of paper committal in the matter.This means Alexis will not face a preliminary inquiry into the charge laid against him.Alexis returned to the Chaguanas First Court where he appeared before Magistrate Gillian Scotland.The charge against Alexis, 46, of Chaguanas, is that he, together with other people at Michael Terrace, Nibblette Street, Enterprise, Chaguanas, murdered Vincent Emmanuel Simmons.Simmons was shot and killed at his home in Enterprise on October 7, 2008.Homicide investigator Sgt Anderson Pariman laid the charge. Busby told the court the State would be filing statements for eight witnesses in the matter.Alexis's lawyer, Joseph Honore, applied for disclosure, which Busby assured would be made.The matter was adjourned to November 2.Alexis was arrested on August 30 at a luxury apartment at the upscale One Woodbrook Place, Port-of-Spain, when officers of the Criminal Intelligence Unit (CIU) raided a fourth floor of multimillion-dollar apartment.
