Darryl Trim scored within a minute of the start to give St Anthony's their ninth consecutive victory for the season, after a 3-0 win over Trinity in the North Zone BGTT First Citizens Secondary Schools Football League, yesterday. The match took place at St Anthony's College Ground, Westmoorings, with Trim recording his sixth item of the season in the Tigers unbeaten campaign. In the featured match of the day, Fatima and East Mucurapo played to a 2-2 draw with Kai West of Fatima and East Mucurapo Taffarie Williams both scoring a pair of goals for their respective schools. Fatima took a lead in the 15th minute from a headed goal from West, who connected from an indirect free kick swung in from Xavi Rajpaul from the left side. West could have a hat-trick in the first half, firstly, on the half-hour mark when, in a similar position, he headed a driven cross from Joshua Ramdoo playing on the left wing, and a few minutes later when from an Arvin Prescott low cross, he skied the ball over-bars with only the goalkeeper, Dwayne Thomas for East Mucurapo to beat.
Up 1-0, Fatima returned in the second half full of energy and kept possession for the majority of the 45 minutes. West found his second in the 63rd minute from another header, this time a diving effort which clipped a Mucurapo defender before going in. Despite Fatima's containing of the ball, East Mucurapo was given two opportunities in which they capitalised on. The number 9, Williams found the ball in the box in the 74th minute, which he smashed into the goal after deflecting off of one of his team-mates. He then found the equaliser in the 81st minute to stun the Fatima support, when again he was given space to shoot in the six yard box. East Mucurapo will be flattered by the result, while Fatima can boast of a improved performance from their first leg 3-0 loss to the same opponents. The draw for Mucurapo put the side seven points behind St Anthony's with three matches remaining for either team. St Mary's won their match against Malick 2-0.
