Caribbean Airlines has rebranded its "door-to-door" regional delivery service, which will now be known as CAL Cargo instead of Jetpak Cargo, with a promise to improve the delivery of business documents across the Caribbean. This, according to Guy Wilson, senior manager, Caribbean Airlines Cargo.

"Apart from airport to airport service, we now have door-to-door service. We will be able to deliver documents and small packages. It is a very efficient service in that you get the package on the same day. We will have daily service from T&T to Barbados, Guyana and Jamaica."Wilson was speaking yesterday at a media conference, held by CAL Cargo at the Carousel room at MovieTowne in Invaders' Bay.

The CAL Cargo service is an express small package service that offers door-to-door and airport delivery for customers for small urgent shipments like business documents, parts for repairs and Internet purchases.CAL Cargo is delivering the service in partnership with E Zone Ltd, an Internet shopping delivery service."E Zone already existed in this business and has done an excellent job. Were it not for E Zone, we would not have been able to do this today and offer this product," Wilson said.

Paul Pantin, chief executive officer of E Zone, described the partnership between Caribbean Airlines Cargo and E Zone as a good "marriage."E Zone would be transporting goods from the airport to customers' doors."We already have existing infrastructure in all these islands. It is a nice partnership as we are already there in these islands."Pantin described the prices as "competitive," but added customers should not expect them to offer services that are unrealistically cheap.

"You are not going to have to pay a large amount of money, but for people who come asking if they can get it for half the price that they get from Fedex or DHL, we tell them no, because those companies have a pricing structure to allow that. After all, you are not going to get a Mercedes Benz for the price of a 120Y car," he said.
