I am at a loss to un­der­stand the log­ic and ex­pla­na­tion vis-a-vis the ac­tions of the Gov­ern­ment with re­spect to the in­clu­sion of young minds in the pol­i­cy-mak­ing de­ci­sions of the coun­try.

On one hand, as was done re­cent­ly, many of the min­is­ters sup­port­ed the ap­point­ment of the di­rec­tor of the SSA based on, in­ter alia, her age. On the oth­er hand, how­ev­er, ap­point­ments to state boards re­flect oth­er­wise.

Imag­ine a pen­sion­er with lit­tle or ba­sic qual­i­fi­ca­tions be­ing ap­point­ed to the Ex­port Cen­tres Com­pa­ny Ltd Board. Who is fool­ing who? Is old age an al­ter­na­tive for qual­i­fi­ca­tions?
