T&T wants more trade with Japan

T&T wants to do more busi­ness with Japan. This is ac­cord­ing to For­eign Af­fairs Min­is­ter Dr Su­ru­jrat­tan Ram­bachan. Ram­bachan met with Japan's Par­lia­men­tary Vice-Min­is­ter for For­eign Af­fairs, Ikuo Yama­hana, at his of­fice in Port-of-Spain on Wednes­day.

Ram­bachan al­so told the Japan­ese min­is­ter that the two coun­tries should es­tab­lish teams to plan for a pub­lic/pri­vate sec­tor joint eco­nom­ic mis­sion to this coun­try, which could take place next year. Yama­hana said the two coun­tries should fos­ter clos­er bi­lat­er­al and mul­ti­lat­er­al re­la­tions.

He said the two coun­tries should co-op­er­ate on glob­al is­sues such as cli­mate change Unit­ed Na­tions re­form and hu­man rights. Ram­bachan said mea­sures were be­ing put in place to en­sure Japan­ese were able to ob­tain visas in a short­er time.
