Building on the theme, Journey Through Time, students at the Bishop Anstey Trinity College East sixth form transformed the school’s savannah into an historical and futuristic space, as the six houses vied for the top spots in the institution’s annual sports day on March 25.
The houses are named after areas in Trincity, and their members came up with creative concepts to portray the theme, using drama and dance to add some flair to the march past. Beaulieu portrayed the Industrial Revolution; Rowland, Space Age/Future Age; Dinsley showcased Medieval Times; Montague, Prehistoric Age; Sunrise delved into the Digital Age; and Arcadia, Ancient Civilisation.
After weeks of practice, each house delivered its routine with precision, much to the delight of judges and spectators. But when the dust settled, Arcadia’s portrayal of Hyarima, the war-chief of the indigenous people of T&T, gave the house a three-peat in the march past.
Montague won the trophy for the highest score in the overall sporting activities.
