It is with great sad­ness that we an­nounce the peace­ful pass­ing of our beloved cousin David McKen­zie Charles at his home is Lit­tle Bur­gundy Mon­tre­al at the age of 88, on Jan­u­ary 10th, 2026. Born in Trinidad and To­ba­go on Feb­ru­ary 21st, 1937, David was the beloved son and on­ly child of the late Gladys and Paul Charles and grand­son of Alexan­d­ri­na and David Charles. He was a ded­i­cat­ed teacher, a pas­sion­ate pan en­thu­si­ast, play­ing with In­vaders Steel Or­ches­tra and tal­ent­ed com­pos­er and mu­si­cian who played the har­mon­i­ca, pi­ano, or­gan, gui­tar and pans. David was a kind and gen­er­ous soul, lov­ing son, God­fa­ther, nephew, cousin, hus­band, avid writer and faith­ful friend to many. His warm smile and in­fec­tious laugh­ter will be deeply missed. He is sur­vived by his lov­ing cousins and friends. A fu­ner­al was held on Feb­ru­ary 21st, 2026 at Union Unit­ed Church, Delise Street Mon­tre­al fol­lowed by his in­ter­ment be­sides his moth­er in Mt Roy­al Ceme­tery in Cana­da.
