Hundreds gathered at the NCIC Nagar, Chaguanas, on Tuesday to observe Kaal Bhairav Jayanti—Rise of the Guardian, hosted by the Trinidad and Tobago Yatra Committee (TTYC).
The event created a sacred space for devotees to honour Kaal Bhairav, one of the most powerful yet lesser-known manifestations of Lord Shiva. Revered as the master of time and protector of the universe, Kaal Bhairav embodies strength, resilience, and divine vigilance. His symbolism of courage and protection resonated deeply this year amid T&T’s growing social challenges—reflected in the theme, Rise of the Guardian.
Highlights of the celebration included a discourse by Sadhivi Anandamaiyee Giri, a renowned spiritual leader and orator on the Ramcharitmanas and Bhagavad Gita, along with devotional singing and sacred mantra recitations.
Introduced to TTYC’s annual calendar in 2018, Kaal Bhairav Jayanti has since grown into one of the organisation’s most anticipated events, drawing devotees from across the nation who seek strength, protection, and spiritual guidance.
The worship of Kaal Bhairav continues to expand throughout T&T, with many Shakti temples and mandirs embracing his presence.
Increasingly, other spiritual organisations are also recognising his energy—that of a fierce yet compassionate guardian, needed now more than ever in these challenging times.
