86, slipped away peacefully on July 29, 2020 in his sleep at his home in California, USA. He was born in Freeport, on July 30, 1933, to James and Miriam (Siewdass) Sukhu, the third of six children, and grew up in Mile End Village, Rio Claro. Cherished brother of Steve and Elodie (Duree), and preceding him in death, Albertina (‘Shulu’), Mildred (‘Doll’), and Lynda; he was the eldest boy. Ennel paved the way for his younger siblings to excel in school and chosen career paths, supporting them whenever he could. For Ennel, there was nothing more important than family. Ennel will be missed and remembered dearly by his friends and family, brother, Steve Sukhu and sister-in-law, Velda Sukhu; sister, Elodie Capitani; widow, Ruby Sukhu; children, Karen (Sukhu) Chapman and Yves Sukhu; son-in-law, Jeff Chapman; grandchildren Brock and Molly; his many cousins, nieces and nephews; and lifelong friends Professor Brinsley Samaroo and Kenrick Seepersad among many others, whose lives he enriched.

“Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.”
