The father of Akeisha Worrell who has been missing for almost two weeks is asking the population to pray for her safe return.
“I’m appealing for the Prime Minister, the ministers, everybody, I would like your prayers, at this point of time I would like the nation’s prayers,” Franky Worrell said.
He asked anyone with information about her whereabouts to reach out to the family regardless of the news they may have.
“All Mandirs, Baptist church, Catholic church, we would like you to join us in prayers for this lady please,” he pleaded at his Cocorite home.
Akeisha, 32, was last seen on Saturday, February 17 by her two children at their Petit Valley Morne Coco Road apartment. She left home that day and has not been seen or heard from since.
“After nine I got the text it was like ‘Mummy missing, mummy nah come home,” her sister Philomen Worrell said.
Philomen said the next day relatives made a police report to the West End Police Station.
“They say they investigating it and they think they have a hunch...I find they dragging their foot and I would like to tell them please don’t drag you all foot, please hasty up this investigation,” she said.
Last Monday, the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) sent a media release asking the population for urgent assistance in finding Akeisha.
The release said she is of African descent, with a dark brown complexion, medium build, brown eyes, and small pierced ears.
But relatives said it’s unlike Akeisha to leave her children alone for so long and according to them, her eight-year-old and eleven-year-old are grieving.
“My nephew he is a momma’s boy, he’s not really eating much...my niece she’s to her self but you seeing the grief on her face,” Philomen said.
Philomen added the entire family is in a state of despair but is still clinging to hope that Akeisha will return soon even though all calls to her cell phone are going straight to voicemail.
“I would like to tell my sister that even though we had we differences, I love you, I miss you, come home,” she cried.
Anyone with information on Akeisha’s whereabouts can call the family at 306-8498 or the police at 800-TIPS.
