Michael Phillips is truly redefining what it means to be a multi-hyphenate creative force. With Tailor-Made For Me, he’s not just dipping a toe into music—he’s diving in with a bold fusion of Caribbean and country sounds that’s turning heads across T&T.
The track, produced by Danny Liam Kehlenbeck under the TORS label, offers a witty and insightful take on modern dating in the age of social media. What began as a reflection on fashion evolved into a deeper commentary on how emojis and digital cues shape relationships today.
Released on June 5 during a special evening of live music and entertainment at the Brian Lara Mansion in Port-of-Spain, the single has already garnered attention with airplay on several local radio stations. The track promises to be a significant addition to the T&T music scene.
Phillips champions community fitness and wellness, notably as the founder and promoter of Cycling on the Avenue, an event drawing cyclists from local and international scenes. His Keep Moving Family & Fitness Sundays in Diego Martin, a cherished 15-year tradition, actively encourages families to participate in healthy activities.
Beyond his athletic endeavours, Phillips is an accomplished visual artist. His exhibition, A Return to Passion, showcased his deep appreciation for Trinidad and Tobago’s wildlife and scenic beauty, reflecting his commitment to capturing the nation’s essence through art.
Phillips’ dedication to sport and community development has been recognised at the national level. In 2022, he was awarded the Hummingbird Medal Gold for his service to sport and its development in Trinidad and Tobago.
Phillips only picked up the guitar in 2020 during the pandemic, and within just a few months, he was performing live. Since then, he’s written over 30 original songs and even headlined a concert at MovieTowne’s Fiesta Plaza.
