Poem by MARY CUFFY
I feel guilty, thinking you will judge me,
When you see me taking care of ME?
I’m all the things you want me to be,
Mother, sister, wife, friend, and caretaker,
I need to feel the magic that is ME,
Today I’m taking the time to unwind.
I’m letting my hair down and adjusting my crown,
I need to feel the magic that is ME,
I know you think I must always take on a herculean load,
Today I would appreciate your compassion, don’ t let ME feel guilty,
For taking a few minutes to be the magic that is ME,
Selfcare is not selfish, my sister dear,
You need time to embrace efficiency
and productivity,
To use your nose to smell the rose,
To feel the magic that is YOU, so, you can sparkle wherever you go.
Remember these tips don’t let it slip.
