Hun­dreds of so­ca lovers turned out for Patrice Roberts’ free con­cert, Al­ways Us, at Fla­va Vil­lage in the Queen’s Park Sa­van­nah, de­liv­er­ing one of the most talked-about Car­ni­val sea­son show­cas­es de­spite spo­radic rain ear­li­er in the day. Or­gan­ised as a heart­felt “thank you” to her fans amid ris­ing cost-of-liv­ing con­cerns, the event drew an es­ti­mat­ed crowd of more than 10,000, with around 8,000 fill­ing the venue and rough­ly 2,000 en­joy­ing the per­for­mances from view­ing screens along The Drag. Through­out the evening, Roberts kept the en­er­gy high with her sig­na­ture stage pres­ence, sup­port­ed by ap­pear­ances from pop­u­lar lo­cal artistes in­clud­ing Shal Mar­shall, Shur­wayne Win­ches­ter, Na­dia Bat­son, Farmer Nap­py and Mi­cal Te­ja, cre­at­ing an elec­tric at­mos­phere that res­onat­ed long af­ter her set.
