Hundreds of soca lovers turned out for Patrice Roberts’ free concert, Always Us, at Flava Village in the Queen’s Park Savannah, delivering one of the most talked-about Carnival season showcases despite sporadic rain earlier in the day. Organised as a heartfelt “thank you” to her fans amid rising cost-of-living concerns, the event drew an estimated crowd of more than 10,000, with around 8,000 filling the venue and roughly 2,000 enjoying the performances from viewing screens along The Drag. Throughout the evening, Roberts kept the energy high with her signature stage presence, supported by appearances from popular local artistes including Shal Marshall, Shurwayne Winchester, Nadia Batson, Farmer Nappy and Mical Teja, creating an electric atmosphere that resonated long after her set.
