PINKnicTT has evolved into one of the most anticipated premium events on the Carnival calendar, seamlessly blending high-end entertainment with a powerful social mission—raising awareness for breast cancer.
Earlier this month, director Shane Baird, Adrian Chandler and Nicholas Gill presented a cheque to president of the Cancer Society of Trinidad and Tobago Robert Dumas.
The contribution will support the society’s ongoing work in breast cancer education, advocacy and patient support, reinforcing PINKnicTT’s long-standing commitment to community impact.
“When corporate citizens like Pinknic stand with the Trinidad and Tobago Cancer Society and support the work we do, it sends a powerful message to the wider community about the value of our mission, the impact of our programmes, and our collective ability to make a meaningful difference in our country’s fight against cancer,” said Dumas.
“We are deeply grateful to have been selected as the beneficiary NGO of Pinknic’s generous contribution.”
Produced by the Air Committee, PINKnicTT was first staged in October 2019 to coincide with Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
From its inception, the event was designed to combine a party-like atmosphere with a meaningful cause.
“October is the month set aside for breast cancer awareness, which is where PINKnicTT began,” explained director Shane Baird.
“The idea was to raise awareness and bring attention to breast cancer in a fun and engaging way, allowing people to come together, have a good time and party with a purpose.”
The inaugural edition supported the Trinidad and Tobago Cancer Society with a $25,000 donation. Over the years, PINKnicTT has continued to collaborate with cancer-focused organisations, including the Pink Hibiscus Foundation, while maintaining its advocacy message even after transitioning to the Carnival season in 2023.
Since its move to Carnival, PINKnicTT has experienced tremendous growth. Recent editions have sold out in as little as two weeks after tickets went on sale, solidifying its reputation as a must-attend lifestyle event. Known for its signature pink aesthetic, fashion-forward patrons and immersive themes, the event places strong emphasis on creating a safe, empowering space for women.
According to Nicholas Gill, the overwhelming response from patrons, suppliers and partners has reinforced the importance of the cause.
“When we launched PINKnicTT, we didn’t realise how many people cancer affected,” Gill said.
“Almost everyone has someone close to them who has been impacted. The feedback and support we received showed us that people genuinely value events that stand for something, and that motivates us to continue giving back.”
Each edition of PINKnicTT is carefully curated to deliver a premium experience, featuring interactive photo installations, exotic cuisine, top-shelf beverages and immersive décor that encourages self-expression, confidence and creativity—particularly among women.
“Women are given the opportunity to showcase their best selves in a classy and deluxe manner,” Baird said.
“We aim to create an atmosphere where every woman can take a break from the pressures of daily life, ‘free up,’ and support an important cause at the same time.”
As the brand looks ahead, anticipation is already building for its next instalment, PINKnicTT 2026: Cupid’s Crush—A Tale of Hearts, set for February 14, 2026.
The Valentine’s-inspired edition promises an immersive, romance-themed experience that blends premium entertainment, striking aesthetics and continued advocacy for breast cancer awareness.
“PINKnicTT is known for its pink style and elevated production, but purpose has always been at the heart of what we do,” the directors shared.
“Through this platform, we aim to raise awareness while directly supporting organisations that provide essential services to those affected by breast cancer.”
As excitement builds for Cupid’s Crush—A Tale of Hearts, PINKnicTT continues to demonstrate how lifestyle events can successfully merge celebration with cause—proving that partying with purpose is not just possible, but impactful.
