Teenage singing sensation Mohammad Faiz had the crowd at Centre Pointe Mall, Chaguanas, on their feet on Saturday night as he delivered a high-energy performance filled with popular hits and beloved Bollywood classics.

The 18-year-old talent from Rajasthan, India, headlined the annual Father’s Day Concert hosted by RM Concerts.

The evening’s entertainment began shortly after 8 pm with spirited performances from local artistes AJ Arjoon, Amit Sooknanan and Brian Mohan, each captivating the audience with nostalgic renditions of Bollywood oldies.

Sooknanan moved hearts with the soulful Tujhse Naraaz Nahin Zindagi, a timeless gem from the 1983 film Masoom, while Mohan impressed with Raat Kali Ek Khwab Mein from the 1971 classic Buddha Mil Gaya. He also performed the evergreen romantic duet Jab Koi Baat Bigad Jaaye from the 1990 film Jurm, originally sung by Kumar Sanu and Sadhana Sargam.

Adding to the evening’s charm, Guyanese vocalist Vishale took to the stage, followed by the dynamic Neval Chaitlal. The pair delighted the audience with a series of duets, setting the tone for the main act of the night.

When Faiz finally emerged, dressed in a traditional dhoti paired with a burgundy jacket and a black cap, the crowd erupted in cheers. As his set progressed, he removed his cap to unveil his latest cornrow hairstyle—greeted with even more enthusiasm from the audience.

Faiz delivered a string of hits leading into the intermission, showcasing the vocal prowess that first captured hearts when he won Sony TV’s Superstar Singer Season 2. Since then, his powerful voice and charismatic stage presence have earned him international recognition.

In 2024, Faiz received the prestigious India’s Youth Icon Award, a testament to his growing influence and popularity. His collaborations with acclaimed Bollywood music director Himesh Reshammiya have produced a number of chart-topping tracks, including Mere Liye, Nasha, and Tere Liye.

However, it was the emotive ballad Kabhi Shaam Dhale that truly launched him into stardom. Most recently, Faiz lent his voice to the soundtrack of Mr and Mrs Mahi, a film starring Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor, further solidifying his place in the Bollywood music scene.

The Chaguanas audience was left enthralled by Faiz’s performance—a night to remember for fans of both new talent and timeless melodies.
