Richard Hyatali, Bonanza Street, Princes Town, vendor: “Princes Town needs to have all of those big trucks stop passing through the town from six to six because it is a small town and Princes Town needs some maintenance. For a modern day, is this how a town supposed to look? It is the place to come for a good deal like clothes, food, everything. And we have the best vegetables in all the islands because everything coming fresh from the garden and prices real nice, reasonable...”
Junior Daren Williams, Lendore Road, Princes Town, vendor: “We need good cooperation because that is something we don’t have. For instance, the police always harassing us…anything a man come out to sell, they harassing us. We want proper representation. I would tell people how nice the place is, a wonderful and beautiful place to visit. You could make a living up here and is the cheapest town in the South. You could shop all day and all night.”
William Frederick, Gasparillo, shoemaker: “They need a bigger car park for customers. I would tell the public to come for plenty of bargains like clothes, shoes, leather craft, slippers, sandals, children stuff, best prices.”
Anie Praboocharan, Hindustan, Princes Town, hairdresser: “We need better pavements because stores have plenty of stuff packed on the pavements, so we need more walking space. The prices are very cheap here and the quality is great too.”
Usha Ramnath, Princes Town, fruit vendor: Princes Town needs a proper parking system for the vendors which none of the vendors have. If you notice right around, take a look for yourself; only no-parking signs. A customer comes to buy something for $10 and gets a $1,000 ticket. It's ridiculous, it makes business slow, right now everybody's business dropped and things are already slow in the country. We have the best stuff in Princes Town, obviously. We have all the fresh fruits—local and foreign. And being more to the countryside, we get the better stuff. Prices are good, like this fruit I'm selling for $40 a pound, a guy said he paid $80, you see the big difference? We have the best prices, it's just we have a problem with parking.
Alvin Cadette, Mayaro, tradesman/businessman: Princes Town needs proper governance. Year to year you're seeing lack of development. Look at the condition of the market, the public inconvenience, the problems taxi drivers are having. Take a look at the congestion in the town, it needs proper administration and governance.
Princes Town is situated on the southeast of T&T where you could get a variety of items. It's a place where people are loving and nice.
All different ethnic races come together and make one community in unity.
Princes own is best known for shopping for a wide variety of stuff from food, clothing, and even alcohol. Take a look at Rattan's, that alone speaks for itself.
