The Astor Johnson Repertory Dance Theatre presented Branches at Queen’s Hall from Friday October 2, to Sunday, October 4.
Fondly known as “Rep”, the company blends dance and theatre in a unique hybrid form that resonates culturally and emotionally. Rooted in Caribbean traditions while embracing global influences, Rep focuses on multigenerational and inclusive participation, empowering artists to create work that reflects a collective identity.
This year, the company remounted one of Astor Johnson’s full-length pieces, Kyo, a work of artistic and rhythmic dance expression inspired by the natural elements of the universe: earth, wind, water and fire.
