Mrs Glamour International, Trinidad and Tobago, Sarah Inderlall, describes herself as “a proud Trinbagonian, coming from humble beginnings.”

Mrs Glamour International is a beauty pageant that celebrates married women worldwide. It provides a platform for participants to showcase their inner and outer beauty, as well as their talents and intelligence. The competition aims to empower women by encouraging them to embrace their unique qualities and capabilities.

The event includes various segments such as evening gown presentations, interviews, and talent showcases. The next international final will be held in Bali from October 28 to November 3.

Born and raised in Enterprise, Trinidad’s representative Inderlall remembers being taught the importance of hard work, education, and resilience from an early age.

Crediting her parents with not only instilling those values in her, she says that she also “has been fortunate to have parents who gave me the freedom to choose my own path, allowing me to stay true to myself while pursuing my passions and dreams.”

Inderlall’s love for science led her to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, specialising in Microbiology and Biotechnology, followed by a Master’s in Food Science & Technology from the University of the West Indies, St Augustine.

Over the last decade, she has built a rewarding career in sales and marketing, working across diverse industries such as pharmaceuticals, FMCG, manufacturing, and home appliances. How does Inderlall float between the two seemingly distant careers of science and beauty pageantry?

According to her, “modelling has been a passion of mine because it allows me to express myself creatively and confidently. I enjoy stepping in front of the camera, telling a story through fashion and movement, and connecting with people in a unique way. It’s about embracing my individuality and using it to inspire others to feel beautiful and confident in their own skin.”

This love for modelling led her to represent T&T on the world stage in the Mrs Glamour International competition. Crowned Mrs Glamour International after competing in the Mrs Universe Trinidad and Tobago pageant and placing as the runner up, she felt honoured for the opportunity to represent T&T and describes the journey “as one of personal growth, self-discovery, and making a positive impact,” and she feels incredibly proud to be part of it.

Not only does the competition allow her to pursue this love for modelling, but it also allows her to raise awareness for a cause that she is passionate about—animals. Her platform for Mrs Glamour International is focused on raising awareness for shelter animal adoption.

Inderlall says, “Animal welfare has always been a cause very close to my heart. As someone who believes all creatures deserve kindness and compassion, I knew I wanted to use my platform to raise awareness about the importance of adopting shelter animals.”

That’s how she created the “Adopt the Love” campaign, which was spearheaded in collaboration with SuperDog. This campaign focuses on promoting the adoption of shelter animals at the Trinidad and Tobago Prevention of Cruelty of Animals (TTSPCA) highlighting the joy and love these animals can bring into people’s lives.

To help this cause, financial donations and a hamper were donated to the TTSPCA. She also launched a social media campaign featuring a series of videos that encouraged others to adopt. So far, the campaign has reached over 140,000 views, which has been an incredible milestone in spreading awareness.

Inderlall also harnesses her confidence and smile as integral to her beauty regime. She encourages women to take care of themselves “both inside and out,” musing that her “beauty regimen is all about balance and focusing on maintaining a healthy diet, regular exercise, and prioritising self-care.”

She indicates that staying hydrated throughout the day, sticking to a good skincare routine, and sleeping are vital parts of her regimen. She always makes time to unwind and manage stress because “when you feel good mentally and emotionally, it radiates outward.”

Additionally, she stresses that education is the key to success, whether through traditional academics or learning a trade. Encouraging young women to strive for independence, she believes that good education breeds self-sufficiency.

Inderlall herself balances her many hats, both in her demanding career and preparation for the pageant. Describing it as “mentally and physically exhausting at times,” she counts learning to manage her time and energy as “a huge personal victory.”

A wife, model, marketing manager, and content creator, Sarah Inderlall is the definition of doing it all. The underlying ethos of Mrs Glamour International is a celebration of married women, who are multifaceted and strike the balance.

Embodying that very ethos, Inderlall is well-poised to represent T&T beautifully on the international stage.
