Sarah Manoo, of Rangi­la Dance Com­pa­ny, was crowned Miss La Reine Rive af­ter win­ning the Best Gown cat­e­go­ry at the Prime Min­is­ter’s Best Vil­lage Tro­phy Com­pe­ti­tion gown pre­sen­ta­tion last Sun­day.

The event, pre­sent­ed by the Min­istry of Cul­ture and Com­mu­ni­ty De­vel­op­ment, was held at the Na­tion­al Acad­e­my for the Per­form­ing Arts (NA­PA), where nine con­tes­tants com­pet­ed for the ti­tle.

Manoo’s gown earned her the top award be­fore she was lat­er an­nounced as the over­all Miss La Reine Rive win­ner.

The gown pre­sen­ta­tion forms part of the wider Prime Min­is­ter’s Best Vil­lage Tro­phy Com­pe­ti­tion, an an­nu­al na­tion­al pro­gramme that cel­e­brates com­mu­ni­ty-based tal­ent, cre­ativ­i­ty and cul­tur­al tra­di­tions through com­pe­ti­tions in ar­eas in­clud­ing the per­form­ing arts, tra­di­tion­al cul­ture, culi­nary arts and oth­er dis­ci­plines.

The event al­so pro­vid­ed an op­por­tu­ni­ty for the con­tes­tants to show­case their in­di­vid­ual style and cre­ativ­i­ty while rep­re­sent­ing the com­mu­ni­ties and cul­tur­al or­gan­i­sa­tions from which they emerged.

With her dou­ble suc­cess on the night, Manoo’s vic­to­ry added an­oth­er achieve­ment to Rangi­la Dance Com­pa­ny’s par­tic­i­pa­tion in this year’s com­pe­ti­tion.
