Sarah Manoo, of Rangila Dance Company, was crowned Miss La Reine Rive after winning the Best Gown category at the Prime Minister’s Best Village Trophy Competition gown presentation last Sunday.
The event, presented by the Ministry of Culture and Community Development, was held at the National Academy for the Performing Arts (NAPA), where nine contestants competed for the title.
Manoo’s gown earned her the top award before she was later announced as the overall Miss La Reine Rive winner.
The gown presentation forms part of the wider Prime Minister’s Best Village Trophy Competition, an annual national programme that celebrates community-based talent, creativity and cultural traditions through competitions in areas including the performing arts, traditional culture, culinary arts and other disciplines.
The event also provided an opportunity for the contestants to showcase their individual style and creativity while representing the communities and cultural organisations from which they emerged.
With her double success on the night, Manoo’s victory added another achievement to Rangila Dance Company’s participation in this year’s competition.
