In a monumental move, SKY 99.5FM, a leading Gospel radio station, is set to redefine its presence in the T&T airwaves with the official launch of SKY 99.5FM Reloaded at the GM labs on St Vincent Street, Port-of-Spain.
The rebranding comes under the leadership of Tova Satnarine-White, Guardian Media’s Commercial Manager for Radio and GM Tech, who oversees seven radio stations, 15 billboards, production studios, and technology services in T&T and Guyana.
Satnarine-White, in collaboration with the top Gospel industry talents, aims to refresh the station’s image and broaden its impact in the Christian market.
“Our brands are here for everyone, we have positioned the SKY 99.5fm brand to be more youthful, bringing an energy and dynamism like never before. You will find every type of gospel music on this brand, the music will lift your spirit and overall make you feel the positive energy as you face your day,” she said.
SKY 99.5FM has been a long-standing choice for advertisers and listeners in the Christian demographic. The decision to rebrand stems from the station’s commitment to evolve with the changing music industry landscape and its renewed commitment to engage with the new generation of listeners attracted to the radio station. The station will now exude youthful energy while maintaining its position as a positive, family-oriented channel.
Satnarine-White noted, “Forty per cent of our population is Christian. In a world of harsh realities and negativity, we need that companion SKY99.5fm that brings us calm, speaks to our values and is easy to listen to with everyone, all the time”.
Gospel artiste and lead consultant at SKY99.5FM Brandon Best said, “My diverse background as an entertainer, Christian leader, husband, father, and professional in sales and marketing gives me a unique edge. I understand how to connect with people from various walks of life, bringing a broad spectrum of engaging and relatable content to SKY99.5FM.
“I’ve admired SKY for over 12 years in the gospel space. The opportunity to extend my impact, especially targeting a younger demographic, aligns perfectly with my passion. I’m here to bring fresh energy and vibrant messages to our listeners. Hosting ‘The Shuttle’ from 9 am to 1 pm, I aim to energise our listeners’ day with great music and thought-provoking conversations.”
Soca artiste, Award Winning Gospel artiste, content creator and now radio personality Jerry Dane Sellier, also known as Jadee, said he hopes to make a difference to his new audience on SKY99.5fm.
“To my new family on air, I just want to build a bond with you. I want to be as open as possible, which may allow me to reach you where you are, so I can be a blessing with music, ministry, light conversation, and most importantly make you smile,” he said.
The broadcasting spectrum of the station will now resonate with the dynamic voices of Curtis Jordan, Jadee, Nisa, Jezreel Jones, Brandon Best, Justice, AJ, Lynden Mahon, Adahna Chadee-Mahon, DJ Versatile, Koen Duncan, and Jahzon. SKY 99.5FM Reloaded promises to be a beacon of positivity, prayer and positive action, catering to a diverse audience with its youthful spirit and commitment to uplifting messages.
