Calypso Queen Stacey Sobers is set to take the stage once again for her second concert in 2021. In recognition of Calypso History Month, Sobers will host Crackers and Cheese at Home, a livestream concert on Sunday at 6 pm. The show will be streamed via IEnt Live.

Sobers will perform some of her winning compositions including Queens and Kings, which won her the 2018 NWAC—National Calypso Queens Competition. The concert will also feature performances by artistes: Krisson Joseph, Darwen Pharaoh Greenidge, and the band Chantal Esdelle and Moyenne. Viewers will be treated to a range of music in tribute to such legends as Ras Shorty I, Andre Tanker, Singing Sandra, Brother Resistance, the Mighty Sniper and David Rudder. Master of Ceremonies for the night will be Omari Ashby.

Why Crackers and Cheese? “It is an epic Trinbagonian dish, also known as Crix and cheese, that you can find at just about any event, from a wake to a garden party. This show will demonstrate the richness of our cultural diversity. While we cannot connect physically just yet, and there are a lot of people who cannot come home as well, the livestream event allows us to enjoy our traditions together, even though we are still at home,” Sobers explained.

This is a second event that Sobers is hosting in 2021, following her online Carnival show in January which was streamed via the WACK 90.1fm platform.

It was also important for Sobers to host Crackers and Cheese in October, in honour of Calypso History Month.

“This industry and this music has given me so much. It is where I found my voice and I have a great deal of respect for the men and women who came before me and laid the foundation for me to live my passion,” she said.
