Mem­bers of the St Philip and St James RC Church rung in the sea­son in their tra­di­tion­al way with a Christ­mas con­cert and bless­ing of the crèche last Fri­day at the church’s Ch­agua­nas com­pound.

The con­cert, host­ed by Fa­ther Steve Ran­some at the Max Mur­phy Cen­tre, drew an ap­pre­cia­tive crowd of parish­ioners from the Ch­agua­nas, Long­denville and Cunu­pia parish­es as they pre­pared for Christ­mas Day, the height of the fes­tive sea­son when they will cel­e­brate the birth of Je­sus Christ.

Mem­bers of the three parish­es show­cased their tal­ent at the con­cert.

Pa­trons were treat­ed to Christ­mas-themed car­ols, dance, parang, in­stru­men­tal and spo­ken word per­for­mances.

Fa­ther Ran­some blessed the crèche in the church­yard af­ter the con­cert.
