The Mod­el­ling As­so­ci­a­tion of T&T (TMATT) is an NGO and the trade or­gan­i­sa­tion of the T&T’s mod­el­ling in­dus­try. Its aim is to cre­ate a uni­fied voice for lo­cal mod­els, and its ob­jec­tives are to dis­cov­er, de­vel­op and de­ploy ini­tia­tives to en­able lo­cal mod­els to en­joy prof­itable and ful­fill­ing ca­reers.

Two such ini­tia­tives are the Stride: Faces of Fash­ion mod­el train­ing pro­gramme and the TMATT Mas­ter Class.

The fifth edi­tion an­nu­al Fash­ion Work­shop Stride: Faces of Fash­ion, is re­gard­ed to be a launch­ing pad pro­vid­ing the­o­ry, prac­ti­cal and on-the-job train­ing in the field of mod­el­ling.

It al­so al­lows for on-the-job train­ing in the fields of make­up artistry, fash­ion event plan­ning, pro­duc­tion and per­son­al styling, through the vol­un­teer dri­ve of the pro­gramme. This ex­pe­ri­ence is not mere­ly for en­ter­tain­ment but a way to ex­pose new tal­ent to in­dus­try stake­hold­ers, max­imis­ing the po­ten­tial for learn­ing, net­work­ing and re­al job op­por­tu­ni­ties.

This work­shop would en­com­pass three sec­tions and will be fa­cil­i­tat­ed main­ly on­line with a few phys­i­cal ses­sions. The three sec­tions and sub­ject­ed months are as fol­lows: the­o­ry (Sep­tem­ber), prac­ti­cal and pho­to­shoots (Oc­to­ber) and net­work­ing (No­vem­ber).

In­ter­est­ed peo­ple—male and fe­male, 15 years and old­er, in­clud­ing the hear­ing im­paired can reg­is­ter by click­ing the reg­is­tra­tion form link on TMATT’s Face­book and In­sta­gram pages.

“We heav­i­ly en­cour­age par­tic­i­pants from To­ba­go to reg­is­ter, as the course will be run­ning si­mul­ta­ne­ous­ly in T&T. Reg­is­tra­tion for Stride ends Au­gust 27,” TMATT said.

Top mod­els from Stride: Faces of Fash­ion 2017 to 2021 will have the op­por­tu­ni­ty to par­tic­i­pate in TMATT’s first an­nu­al mas­ter class ses­sions, free of cost.

This year’s ses­sions will be fa­cil­i­tat­ed by cre­ative di­rec­tor Christo­pher Nathan, of Co­co Vel­vet In­ter­na­tion­al Fash­ion and Mod­el Man­age­ment. The mas­ter class is al­so open to mod­els who have com­plet­ed a recog­nised mod­el train­ing pro­gramme or have two or more years ex­pe­ri­ence in the in­dus­try.
