South African singer/song writer Nomcebo is coming to T&T for Carnival 2023, but, before that, she is expected to visit in July this year to engage in the creative process for her soca-afro beat collaborations with local soca artistes.
In a release, Island Style- IS Promo and Gemini Production said they were “pleased” to have secured the services of the “phenomenal South African artiste Nomcebo for their Carnival 2023 events.”
The release noted that Nomcebo’s mega global hit Jerusalema had received combined views of close to one billion on Youtube since its release and was responsible for spawning a line dance craze worldwide.
IS Promo and Gemini Production explained that when she comes for Carnival 2023 Nomcebo will collaborate with local soca artistes on Soca-Afro beat infused tracks to be released for the 2023 festival.
Nomcebo together with Ivory Coast vocalist Elody Amondji are expected to ‘creatively collaborate’ with T&T composed/producer Ian Wiltshire, who is responsible for producing David Michael Rudder’s track Trini to The Bone, which is considered by some as the unofficial national anthem.
Also joining the creative collaborative team would be young TT singer/composer and producer Mical Teja.
