Two “IdeaHub Screens” were do­nat­ed to the Fire Ser­vice to sup­port its Na­tion­al In­ci­dent Com­mand Sys­tem (NICS).

These are ex­pect­ed to as­sist in its fire fight­ing op­er­a­tions through “re­al-time, high-qual­i­ty video,” a re­lease from Am­cham T&T said.

The pre­sen­ta­tion was made at the open­ing cer­e­mo­ny of Am­cham T&T’s re­cent 26th An­nu­al HSSE Con­fer­ence.

The or­gan­i­sa­tion se­cured the screens from Phoenix Park Gas Proces­sors Lim­it­ed (PPG­PL).

“Some time ago, the T&T Fire Ser­vice asked us for sup­port for their NICS. Giv­en our fo­cus on in­creas­ing dig­i­tal­i­sa­tion and pro­mot­ing HSSE best prac­tices in T&T, we are de­light­ed that our re­la­tion­ships with our mem­bers re­sult­ed in the pro­vi­sion of sup­port for this spe­cial re­quest,” Ni­rad Tewarie, CEO of Am­cham T&T ex­plained.

Do­minic Ram­per­sad, pres­i­dent of PPG­PL who made the pre­sen­ta­tion to Arnold Bris­to, chief fire of­fi­cer said, “As we reimag­ine our world, we al­so have to reimag­ine not just our com­pa­nies but the role that our com­pa­nies play in pro­vid­ing a ser­vice to our com­mu­ni­ties—and digi­ti­sa­tion doesn’t stop at the fence­line of our com­pa­nies.”

Bris­to, who thanked Am­cham T&T and PPG­PL for the do­na­tion al­so asked com­pa­nies to con­tin­ue their com­mit­ment to im­prove health and safe­ty in T&T. “Health and safe­ty is every­body’s busi­ness,” Bris­to said adding, “Some­times com­pa­nies spend quite a lot of in­vest­ment in­to bring­ing their com­pa­nies on­line and pay very lit­tle at­ten­tion to the in­vest­ment they would have made and how to pro­tect it.
He al­so called on so­ci­ety to pay more at­ten­tion as this will the re­duce the risk of ex­po­sure to loss­es as well as the loss of em­ploy­ment.
