CAL directors get instruments of appointment

Min­is­ter of Fi­nance Dav­en­dranath Tan­coo yes­ter­day pre­sent­ed the in­stru­ments of ap­point­ment to new mem­bers of the board of di­rec­tors of Caribbean Air­lines Ltd (CAL).

In a news re­lease, the Min­istry of Fi­nance said the Gov­ern­ment agreed to the ap­point­ment of the six-mem­ber board of di­rec­tors for a pe­ri­od of two years with ef­fect from the date of the res­o­lu­tion of the share­hold­ers, in ac­cor­dance with the Com­pa­nies Act, Chap. 81:01 and the by-laws of the com­pa­ny.

The di­rec­tors are chair Rey­na Kow­lessar, vice chair Videsh Praim and di­rec­tors Shar­lene Ma­haraj, Sel­wyn Cud­joe, Amit Kr­is­han Ma­habir and Adam Moss.

Tan­coo con­grat­u­lat­ed these out­stand­ing and qual­i­fied in­di­vid­u­als in their new role and ex­press sin­cer­est grat­i­tude for their com­mit­ment to serve the com­pa­ny and by ex­ten­sion the peo­ple of T&T.

CAL is joint­ly owned by the gov­ern­ments of T&T and Ja­maica, with T&T own­ing 88.06 per cent and Ja­maica own­ing 11.94 per cent.

Moss, the rep­re­sen­ta­tive of the Gov­ern­ment of Ja­maica, is a con­sul­tant in the lit­i­ga­tion de­part­ment of the Ja­maican law firm, My­ers, Fletch­er & Gor­don where he fo­cus­es on al­ter­na­tive dis­pute res­o­lu­tion, in­ter­na­tion­al in­vest­ment law, in­sur­ance, and avi­a­tion.
