CAL: Guyana, Barbados flights still on despite curfew

Caribbean Air­lines has ad­vised that due to the day­time cur­few in Trinidad and To­ba­go on Sat­ur­day, June 19 and Sun­day, June 20, 2021, on­ly one do­mes­tic flight be­tween the two is­lands will op­er­ate on those days.

But de­spite the 10 am cur­few be­ing en­forced for this week­end, Caribbean Air­lines flights to Guyana and Bar­ba­dos sched­uled for this week­end, will pro­ceed as ex­pect­ed.

The air­line con­firmed in a re­lease yes­ter­day af­ter­noon that the 8 am flight to Guyana and 12.35 pm flight to Bar­ba­dos, both card­ed for to­day, are still be­ing fa­cil­i­tat­ed, as are the 8 am and 11.30 am flights to Guyana and 12.35 pm trip to Bar­ba­dos sched­uled for to­mor­row.

The air­line, how­ev­er, ad­vised that pas­sen­gers who are due to fly with­in the cur­few hours should walk with a copy of their trav­el itin­er­aries to as­sist with any re­quests from the Trinidad and To­ba­go Po­lice Ser­vice.

With re­spect to the do­mes­tic air bridge even though these flights fall be­tween the 5 am to 10 am win­dow when there is no cur­few, the air­line still ad­vised cus­tomers to walk with a copy of their trav­el itin­er­aries to as­sist with any re­quests from the TTPS.

Caribbean Air­lines rec­om­mend­ed that any trav­el along the do­mes­tic air bridge dur­ing this pe­ri­od should be for es­sen­tial and emer­gency pur­pos­es on­ly.

They, how­ev­er, not­ed that tick­ets can be placed on hold for fu­ture trav­el with no penal­ties when the full sched­ule re­sumes.
