Digicel T&T has announced the promotion of Abraham Smith to the head of the company.

In a release the company stated that this comes as the current CEO, Jabbor Kayumov, moves to take on another senior leadership role within the Group.

The company noted that Smith, who joined Digicel T&T in 2019 has previously held CEO roles with Smart Telecom in Nepal, Ooredoo in the Maldives and Ucell in Uzbekistan.

When Smith joined Digicel T&T as Consumer Director, he worked alongside outgoing CEO, Jabbor Kayumov. The company described Smith as being instrumental in conceiving and driving customer-first digital initiatives that have resonated with customers and staff.

THe company noted that Smith’s contributions have translated into increased usage and revenues and saw Digicel recording its best ever year in T&T in 2019.

Oliver Coughlan, Digicel CEO Caribbean and Central America said Smith’s contribution to the success of the company’s operations in T&T has been significant and his commercial, customer-first and digital savvy—coupled with his strong ability to build and lead a team—are constantly highlighted by the staff at all levels in the organisation.

During my consultation with Ms Brafit CEO Nicole Joseph-Chin, what was supposed to be a simple mastectomy bra fitting became something much deeper. Her thoughtful questions unlocked emotions I didn’t even realise I was holding in. She comforted, reassured, and helped me face the truth of what was coming. That bra wasn’t just clothing—it was the first real symbol of life after surgery.
