First Citizens Group has announced the appointment of Sharda Nanan as its new chief internal auditor, effective September 21, 2026, while confirming that the acting appointment of Julia Maria Daniel has come to an end.
The appointments were disclosed in notices published by the financial institution yesterday.
According to First Citizens, Nanan brings more than two decades of experience in auditing and senior management to the role.
The group said she holds a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Management.
She is also a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA), a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), a Certified Forensic Public Accountant (FCPA) and a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).
FCB noted that Nanan has accumulated over 20 years of audit experience, including 12 years in senior management positions.
Meanwhile, the company also announced that the acting appointment of Julia Maria Daniel as chief internal auditor ended on September 20, 2026.
Daniel has since resumed her substantive role at First Citizens Bank Ltd.
First Citizens Group also recently appointed Kevin Haqq to the position of group chief risk officer.
In a notice posted to the T&T Stock Exchange, majority state-owned First Citizens said Haqq’s appointment took effect on August 24, 2026.
The notice said Haqq holds a Master of Science in Actuarial Management as well as a Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science and is a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries.
After nine months and nine days as the group CEO Jason Julien resigned effective on August 31, 2026.
Julien, who is 50, became the group CEO of First Citizens on October 22, 2025, following the departure of his predecessor, Karen Darbasie, who retired on October 21, 2025.
Julien was promoted to deputy CEO effective February 1, 2015, having served previously as general manager of First Citizens Investment Services (FCIS) for five years.
He worked at Guardian Holdings, Citibank and PriceWaterhouseCoopers before heading to First Citizens.
