En­er­gy Min­is­ter Dr Roodal Mooni­lal will at­tend In­dia En­er­gy Week 2026 in Goa, In­dia, from Jan­u­ary 27 to 30, rep­re­sent­ing Trinidad and To­ba­go on a glob­al stage.

The an­nu­al con­fer­ence is a mar­que event in the en­er­gy sec­tor, draw­ing thou­sands of pro­fes­sion­als, gov­ern­ment of­fi­cials, and in­dus­try lead­ers from around the world.

“Be­ing in­vit­ed to this con­fer­ence is a sig­nif­i­cant ho­n­our,” Mooni­lal said. “It is tru­ly a glob­al event, in­volv­ing over 700 ex­hi­bi­tions and pro­fes­sion­al speak­ers, in­clud­ing fel­low en­er­gy min­is­ters and ex­ec­u­tives from ma­jor oil and gas com­pa­nies in In­dia and be­yond.

“I look for­ward to the trip as an op­por­tu­ni­ty to pro­mote Trinidad and To­ba­go as a pre­mier des­ti­na­tion for for­eign di­rect in­vest­ment, par­tic­u­lar­ly in the up­stream sec­tor.”

The min­is­ter high­light­ed the need for re­newed in­vest­ment in the coun­try’s en­er­gy in­dus­try, not­ing de­clines in both oil and gas pro­duc­tion be­tween 2016 and 2025.

“We are work­ing to at­tract in­vestors and ex­plor­ers to Trinidad and To­ba­go to par­tic­i­pate in fur­ther de­vel­op­ing our oil and gas sec­tor,” he said.

Ac­cord­ing to an ar­ti­cle from News IP, the In­dia En­er­gy Week, is held in pic­turesque Goa, is ex­pect­ed to host an es­ti­mat­ed 75,000 en­er­gy pro­fes­sion­als, 700 ex­hibit­ing com­pa­nies, 6,500 del­e­gates, 550 con­fer­ence speak­ers, and 110 con­fer­ence ses­sions.

The event promis­es to show­case cut­ting-edge de­vel­op­ments across the en­er­gy sec­tor, par­tic­u­lar­ly in oil and gas, and to fa­cil­i­tate dis­cus­sions on the geopo­lit­i­cal, en­vi­ron­men­tal, and eco­nom­ic chal­lenges shap­ing the glob­al en­er­gy land­scape.

In­dia re­mains the third-largest im­porter of oil and gas glob­al­ly and is ex­pect­ed to main­tain its lead­ing role in en­er­gy con­sump­tion for decades. Or­gan­is­ers note that del­e­gates will ad­dress press­ing is­sues, in­clud­ing cli­mate change and en­vi­ron­men­tal risks, as well as eco­nom­ic un­cer­tain­ty and sup­ply chain dis­rup­tions, high­light­ing the need for in­no­v­a­tive strate­gies to nav­i­gate an in­creas­ing­ly un­pre­dictable glob­al en­er­gy mar­ket.
