Six di­rec­tors on the board of Point Lisas In­dus­tri­al Port De­vel­op­ment Cor­po­ra­tion Lim­it­ed, in­clud­ing its for­mer chair­man, of­fered res­ig­na­tions at the close of the 58th An­nu­al Gen­er­al Meet­ing of the cor­po­ra­tion held last Thurs­day.

The di­rec­tors are An­nette Wat­tie, Cindy Man­son, Richar­do Gar­cia, Ri­car­do Lewis, St Clair O’Neil and Stephen Har­ris.

How­ev­er, 13 di­rec­tors were sub­se­quent­ly ap­point­ed as di­rec­tors of the cor­po­ra­tion with ef­fect from Ju­ly 18, 2025.

There are Ram­nar­ine Per­sad, Muichan Lewis, Sie­u­nar­ine Bab­wah, Ron­dell Par­sotan, Jonathan Po­li­ah, Sa­dia Mo­hammed, Mar­sha Pa­dia, Vanes­sa Kussie, Ram­c­hand Maraj, Karunan Bis­ram­s­ingh, Jef­fery Sookram, Trevor Joseph and In­dy Sama­roo.

Plipde­co has been em­broiled in con­tro­ver­sy over its lead­er­ship over the last year.

For­mer pres­i­dent Earnest Ash­ley Tay­lor was placed on ad­min­is­tra­tive leave in Ju­ly 2024, fol­low­ing which he sub­se­quent­ly re­tired in De­cem­ber of that year.

Vice-pres­i­dent of tech­ni­cal ser­vices Dr Av­erne Pan­tin was ap­point­ed as act­ing pres­i­dent, but he re­signed ef­fec­tive Feb­ru­ary 7, 2025.

On Oc­to­ber 11, 2024, Plipde­co an­nounced that Dr Daniel Dook­ie, who was its chair­man, had “ceased to hold a po­si­tion on the board” at the 57th an­nu­al meet­ing of the com­pa­ny on Oc­to­ber 8, 2024.

Wat­tie was then ap­point­ed as chair of the com­pa­ny, and Stephen Har­ris was ap­point­ed as a di­rec­tor on the board.

Over the course of the year, there were sev­er­al di­rec­tors who ei­ther re­signed or were placed on leave.
