Nigel Ro­mano has been ap­point­ed the chair­man of the board of the Na­tion­al In­sur­ance Prop­er­ty De­vel­op­ment Com­pa­ny Lim­it­ed (NIPDEC).

His ap­point­ment as chair­man of the board came in­to ef­fect on Thurs­day.

On Au­gust 2, So­nia Va­lerie-Kel­sick’s ap­point­ment as NIPDEC chair­man came to an end and Joseph Re­my act­ed in the po­si­tion be­fore Ro­mano was of­fi­cial­ly ap­point­ed to the post.

An­oth­er change in the NIPDEC board was made last month when Mar­vin Gon­za­les stopped be­ing a di­rec­tor.

Gon­za­les is now the Min­is­ter of Pub­lic Util­i­ties.

Ro­mano was re­cent­ly ap­point­ed as one of three mem­bers of the FI­FA-ap­point­ed Nor­mal­i­sa­tion Com­mit­tee.

He is the chair­man of the board at the Na­tion­al Flour Mills, and is a di­rec­tor and part­ner at Moore Trinidad and To­ba­go.

Ro­mano pre­vi­ous­ly held the po­si­tion of man­ag­ing di­rec­tor and chief ex­ec­u­tive of­fi­cer at Ja­maica Mon­ey Mar­ket Bro­kers (JMMB), vice pres­i­dent op­er­a­tions at the Caribbean De­vel­op­ment Bank, as well as sec­tor head fi­nan­cial ser­vices at the ANSA McAL group.

He is al­so a week­ly con­trib­u­tor at the Busi­ness Guardian Mag­a­zine.
