Changes continue at the Point Lisas Industrial Port Development Corporation Ltd (Plipdeco) this time with Dr Curtis Dennie, who previously held the position of vice president - port operations, moving up to the position of president of the corporation.
Dennie will serve for three months, Plipdeco outlined in a material change notice posted on the T&T Stock Exchange website yesterday.
It said, “Pursuant to Section 64(1)(b) of the Securities Act 2012, the board of directors of Point Lisas Industrial Port Development Corporation Ltd hereby notifies of the following material change:
“Effective August 1, 2025, Dr Curtis Dennie, who previously held the position of vice president - port pperations, has been appointed to the position of president of the corporation, for a period of three months, concluding on 31, October, 2025. The board of directors extends its congratulations to Dr Dennie on this appointment and expresses its full confidence in his leadership during this interim period.”
The entire board of Plipdeco resigned, effective July 18, following the change of government at the end of April.
A new board was appointed with Ramnarine Persad as chairman and board members including Vanessa Kussie, the widow of Rishi Nagassar, who was one of the four Land and Marine Construction Services (LMCS) divers killed in the February 2022 Paria Fuel diving tragedy.
Other members of the new board are Sieunarine Babwah, Karunaa Bisramsingh, Trevor Joseph, Mulchan Lewis, Ramchand Maraj, Sadia Mohammed, Marsha Padia, Rondell Parsotan, Jonathan Poliah, Indy Samaroo and Jeffery Sookram.
Plipdeco has undergone a series of changes in the last 12 months, with former acting president Dr Averne Pantin resigning effective February 7, 2025, after being sent on administrative leave.
Pantin was appointed to act as president effective July 29, 2024.
That was the same day the Plipdeco board announced that its last substantive president, Ashley Taylor, was placed on administrative leave.
Pantin, whose substantive position was vice-president technical services, was placed on administrative leave effective January 20.
