Scotiabank T&T wins another Bank of the Year 2022 title

Sco­tia­bank Trinidad and To­ba­go has re­ceived its third award this year for Best Bank/Bank of the Year. The most re­cent win—The Bank of the Year 2022 from The Banker Mag­a­zine, a Fi­nan­cial Times pub­li­ca­tion—was an­nounced a few days ago.

The Banker Mag­a­zine is re­gard­ed as the in­dus­try stan­dard for bank­ing ex­cel­lence. Its Bank of the Year Awards se­lect win­ning banks based on those that have made the most progress over the past 12 months.

A re­lease from Sco­tia­bank ex­plains that this re­cent award rec­og­nizes its abil­i­ty to de­liv­er ex­cel­lence in re­turns, strat­e­gy, in­no­va­tion, tech­nol­o­gy, and prod­uct and ser­vices in the lo­cal bank­ing in­dus­try.

“This has cer­tain­ly been an ex­cit­ing year for us and our cus­tomers,” com­ment­ed Gayle Pa­zos, Se­nior Vice-Pres­i­dent and Man­ag­ing Di­rec­tor, Sco­tia­bank Trinidad and To­ba­go.

“Our team con­tin­ues to in­no­vate while main­tain­ing a cus­tomer-first mind­set. We have and will con­tin­ue to in­tro­duce new ser­vices, prod­ucts and tools, pro­vid­ing a safe, con­ve­nient and cus­tomer friend­ly bank­ing ex­pe­ri­ence for our cus­tomers.” Pa­zos not­ed.

She added: “I thank our cus­tomers for con­tin­u­ing to choose us as their fi­nan­cial part­ner. Their trust, con­fi­dence and feed­back have mo­ti­vat­ed us to be bet­ter and we look for­ward to grow­ing our re­la­tion­ship with them.”

Ac­cord­ing to the Sco­tia­bank re­lease, the fol­low­ing are rea­sons why it won Banker Mag­a­zine recog­ni­tion with the Bank of the Year 2022 Award:

• En­hance­ments to the Sco­tia Caribbean App, in­clud­ing the in­tro­duc­tion of Sco­tia Se­lect­Pay™, pro­vid­ing cus­tomers with greater flex­i­bil­i­ty / pay­ment op­tion­al­i­ty for larg­er cred­it card pur­chas­es; and the abil­i­ty for cus­tomers to open ad­di­tion­al ac­counts on­line.

• Ap­prox­i­mate­ly 47% of Sco­tia­bank cus­tomers—a 14% in­crease—are en­rolled on its dig­i­tal plat­forms. Dig­i­tal trans­ac­tions al­so in­creased by over 1 mil­lion or 42% over the pri­or year.

• In­tro­duc­tion of Sco­tia eCom+™, a new dig­i­tal pay­ment so­lu­tion for busi­ness­es.

The Banker Mag­a­zine award is the most re­cent in a se­ries of in­dus­try awards for Sco­tia­bank Trinidad and To­ba­go in 2022. These in­clude “Best Bank” by Glob­al Fi­nance; “Bank of the Year” by Lat­in­Fi­nance; and “Best Dig­i­tal Bank” by Glob­al Fi­nance.

In ad­di­tion, Sco­tia­bank al­so was named the Bank of the Year 2022 in Bar­ba­dos, Cana­da, Ja­maica and Turks & Caicos and was recog­nised with the Glob­al Bank­ing in the Com­mu­ni­ty Award.
