MINISTRY OF ENERGY AND ENERGY INDUSTRIES

Acting Prime Minister and Energy Minister Stuart Young met with Kellyanne Lochan, country manager of Woodside Energy to discuss the company’s ongoing projects in Trinidad.

At the meeting, Lochan took the opportunity to update Minister Young on the recent asset upgrade at Greater Angostura as Woodside Energy continues to pursue opportunities to maximise value and safely optimise production and operating costs in T&T.

Concerning the Calypso deepwater project, Lochan said the marketing and commercial discussions remain ongoing, under the company’s exploration and development portfolio.

Minister Young took the opportunity to congratulate Woodside Energy on its latest LNG tanker, the ‘Woodside Scarlet Ibis, which he said demonstrates the positive stakeholder relationship between the Government and the energy company.

He noted in the Ministry of Energy news release yesterday that the company’s Pacific Basin position and recent agreement for the acquisition of Tellurian and Driftwood LNG. The energy minister said the Government is open to collaborating on opportunities that can emerge from T&T’s strategic location in proximity to Atlantic and Pacific routes for LNG.

The ministry added that both parties agreed to continue its collaborative relationship in the interest of navigating the global economic outlook.
