Trin­ba­go Uni­fied Ca­lyp­so­ni­ans Or­gan­i­sa­tion (TU­CO) has re­leased the or­der of per­for­mance for the 40 se­mi-fi­nal­ists com­pet­ing in the 2025 Na­tion­al Ca­lyp­so Monarch com­pe­ti­tion.  Among the favourites vy­ing for the ti­tle are Yung Bred­da (po­si­tion 9) – "We Rise" and Squeezy Rankin (po­si­tion 19) – "Jus­tice."

Bun­ji and Fay Ann, and every per­former who came be­fore them launched on­to the Hard Fete stage at Sound Forge as if giv­en one in­struc­tion: "Mash the X and stop for noth­ing." There was no lull, no laps­es in en­er­gy, and no way you didn’t hit at least half of your dai­ly step goal be­fore 2 a.m.

The Trinidad and To­ba­go In­ter-is­land Trans­porta­tion Com­pa­ny Lim­it­ed (TTIT) is ad­vis­ing the pub­lic that the 6:30 am sail­ing of the Buc­coo Reef from Trinidad on Car­ni­val Mon­day, March 3rd, has been resched­uled to 9:00 am.

Fif­teen young ca­lyp­so­ni­ans will com­pete in the Na­tion­al Ju­nior Ca­lyp­so Monarch Fi­nals on Feb­ru­ary 24 at 10:00 AM at the Grand­stand, Queen’s Park Sa­van­nah. The fi­nal­ists will go up against reign­ing Ju­nior Ca­lyp­so Monarch, Nata­ki Thomp­son, for the ti­tle.

So­ca su­per­star Machel Mon­tano has an­oth­er ac­co­lade he wants to add to his al­ready full tro­phy cab­i­net.

Reign­ing Ca­lyp­so Monarch, Machel Mon­tano is sched­uled to re­ceive the keys to the Florid­i­an city of Lauder­hill on Fri­day evening, as the Mi­a­mi Broward One Car­ni­val Panora­ma com­pe­ti­tion takes place at the Cen­tral Broward Re­gion­al Park in Lauder­hill. No stranger to the Mi­a­mi Car­ni­val fes­tiv­i­ties, Mon­tano has served in var­i­ous ca­pac­i­ties through­out the evo­lu­tion of the largest Caribbean Car­ni­val in the USA, which is cel­e­brat­ing its 40th an­niver­sary this year. 

The pas­sage of Hur­ri­cane Mil­ton in Flori­da will not im­pact the host­ing of this year's "Mi­a­mi Car­ni­val", as the State re­mains set to in­ject an in­flux of Caribbean cul­ture in­to the South Flori­da re­gion this com­ing week­end.  

"I think I think that things went very well. We don't give our­selves enough cred­it for the abil­i­ty that we have to host this sig­nif­i­cant fes­ti­val," he told re­porters as he an­nounced the re­sults of Down­town Car­ni­val 2024. Al­leyne said he was di­rect­ly in­volved in sev­er­al stake­hold­er meet­ings to en­sure a smooth fes­ti­val."

While J'ou­vert cel­e­bra­tions have con­clud­ed in ma­jor ar­eas in Trinidad and To­ba­go, the Po­lice Ser­vice says the event has been a suc­cess as they re­port­ed lit­tle to no in­ci­dents.
