Herbert Magalhães It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Herbert “Kipps” Magalhães, 92, on January 28, 2024. Kipps was born December 8, 1931 in Princes Town, Trinidad, to the late Joaquim and Mildred (née Baptiste) Magalhães. He emigrated to Canada in 1956 and joined the Royal Canadian Air Force. It had been his dream as a child to fly planes. His service included membership to the 425 All- Weather Fighter Squadron and the 414 Electronic Warfare Squadron. His last years in the Force were spent with the Air Force Air Cadets, training the next generation of pilots. Kipps’s retirement in 1988 permitted him to spend time on his second passion, golf. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 62 years, Florence; daughter Mona Magalhães and her husband René Filion; grand-daughter Maïa Magalhães-Filion; sisters Rita Stanley and Maria Hasmatali, and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by brothers Joachim, Francis, Tony, Leo and Jose Magalhães, and sister Mavis Smith.

She was the daughter of the late Alphonso Wilson and Beryl Hinds; sister of Grace Ramdoo and Audrey Wilson, and the following who are deceased: Merle Wilson, William Wilson, Yvonne Collins, Hamilton Wilson, Bernice Wilson, Verna Loregnard and Raymond Wilson. She was the devoted mother of Anselm Prescod (deceased), Astrid Prescod, Alan Prescod (Althea), Andru Prescod (Jeanine Prime) and Ainsley Prescod. She was grandmother to Alan Jr., Annyella, Vaughn, Arvin, Genesis, Anaya and Evan. Great grandmother of Jade Marie, Zayne, Azura, and Zeidan, aunt of the Ramdoos, Loregnards, Collins and Wilsons and relative of the Hinksons, Henrys and Humphreys. Eileen Wilson was born in St James on November 7th, 1930. She was a retired teacher and vice-principal of St. Agnes Anglican School in St. James, after 36 years of service. Besides teaching she loved making elaborate cakes, gardening, painting, sewing and baking. She loved international travel and had an unusual capacity to remember details of people and events from many decades ago. She was the griot of our large, extended family. She was also dearly loved by many past students and friends. She became a Seventh Day Adventist on 29th September 1995 in Baltimore, MD (USA). She was a long-standing member of the Diego Martin SDA Adult Church Choir, was the Church Auditor, assisted in the Health Department and participated in many Adventist Youth (AY) activities. Her favorite saying was “God knows the beginning and the end and everything between.”

Molly Weber 1927-2024. Molly Weber (nee Rodrigues) of Malvern, UK, passed away on February 21, 2024, peacefully with family at her side. She was 96 years young and lived a full and independent life until she passed. Molly is predeceased by her parents Celeste and Guilherme Rodrigues of Trinidad, by her loving husband Jack, five, brothers and three sisters. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, and their children. Molly will be lovingly remembered as a kind, caring, generous, independent, and brilliant aunt and friend. As a young woman she completed her nursing and midwifery education at St. Thomas Hospital in London. She spent most of her years in Los Angeles with her husband Jack. Later in life she returned to the UK to be close to her sister Arlete (Dame Theresa Rodrigues). She volunteered for charitable organizations, enjoyed playing bridge, scrabble, and doing crossword puzzles. Molly will be sadly missed by all. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Thursday March 14, 2024, at Mary's Catholic Church in East Hendred, Oxfordshire. Greenidge, mother-in-law of Vanessa R. Chaperlin, and a loving grandmother to Ana Marie Greenidge Ménard, Acacia L. Greenidge, and Maya R. Greenidge. Ernesta was also a loving sister to Gerald Bryce, Judith Bryce-White, and Miriam Bryce. She is preceded in death by her dear brothers Beresford and David Bryce. She was the sister-in-law of Theodore Cathy Bryce. She was a relative of the Boca, Harris, Li, Roberts families of Trinidad, Brice, Bynoe and Holder families of Barbados, and the Phillip and Collins families of Grenada. She was Aunt of Kim, Kelvin, Masika, Moishe, Munashe, Paterina, Rochelle, Tameka, and many others.
