Members of the Joint Select Committee on Finance and Legal Affairs have asked for a list of financial institutions that fail to comply with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions’ order to provide witness statements in fraud cases. The demand came from JSC members Jayanti Lutchmedial and Keith Scotland, who also asked for a list of matters waiting for witness statements from financial institutions based on legally obtained production orders. It comes as the JSC noted that 80 per cent of fraud investigations between 2020 and 2023 are still ongoing as a result.
