A 67-year-old San­ta Cruz man has been ar­rest­ed af­ter po­lice seized a home­made shot­gun and am­mu­ni­tion dur­ing an an­ti-crime ex­er­cise con­duct­ed in the North-East­ern Di­vi­sion.

The Cana­di­an In­tel­lec­tu­al Prop­er­ty Of­fice (CIPO) and the Trinidad and To­ba­go In­tel­lec­tu­al Prop­er­ty Of­fice (TTIPO) have signed a Mem­o­ran­dum of Un­der­stand­ing (MOU) aimed at strength­en­ing bi­lat­er­al co­op­er­a­tion on in­tel­lec­tu­al prop­er­ty and deep­en­ing long­stand­ing re­la­tions be­tween the two coun­tries.

Ja­maica's Na­tion­al Se­cu­ri­ty and Peace Min­is­ter, Dr. Ho­race Chang, con­firmed on Wednes­day that Ja­maica is in ne­go­ti­a­tions with the Unit­ed States to ac­cept no more than 25 non-crim­i­nal third-coun­try na­tion­als and refugees.

The Wa­ter and Sew­er­age Au­thor­i­ty (WASA) says it is step­ping up ef­forts to com­bat van­dal­ism and theft tar­get­ing crit­i­cal in­fra­struc­ture af­ter a 42-year-old man ap­peared be­fore the courts in con­nec­tion with a stolen pipe in­ves­ti­ga­tion.
