David Williams aka Bu­ju was killed, and four oth­ers were wound­ed dur­ing a shoot­ing in­ci­dent in Gon­za­les ear­ly yes­ter­day morn­ing.

Around 1.20 am, po­lice of­fi­cers on pa­trol along St Barb’s Road heard loud ex­plo­sions com­ing from the Gon­za­les area. When they reached Pros­per­i­ty Lane, po­lice ob­served four men stand­ing on the road­way with what ap­peared to be blood on their bod­ies. They were lat­er iden­ti­fied as Josi­ah Cold­er, Garvin Burke aka Beno, An­ton Solomon aka Ants, and Akeem Du­rant.

Af­ter mak­ing fur­ther checks, po­lice found Williams with a wound to his head in the front pas­sen­ger seat of a brown Kia Cer­a­to which was parked along Pros­per­i­ty Lane fac­ing west. He was rushed to the hos­pi­tal, where he was pro­nounced dead.

The four vic­tims were car­ried to the Port-of-Spain Gen­er­al Hos­pi­tal in a ve­hi­cle dri­ven by Sher­win Williams, a fam­i­ly mem­ber, and es­cort­ed to by Cor­po­ral St Bernard.

Cold­er re­port­ed that around 1.30 am, whilst pro­ceed­ing east along Pit­man Lane in a ve­hi­cle, they were am­bushed by men armed with firearms who fired shots in their di­rec­tion and es­caped.
