Twelve per­sons were ar­rest­ed and three firearms and quan­ti­ties of am­mu­ni­tion were seized dur­ing East­er week­end an­ti-crime ex­er­cis­es in the North Cen­tral, North­ern and Port of Spain Di­vi­sions overnight.

In the NCD, Task Force of­fi­cers con­duct­ed an ex­er­cise along­side of­fi­cers of the Arou­ca Court and Process Branch be­tween 12 noon

on Thurs­day and 8 am on Fri­day.

Dur­ing the ex­er­cise, 10 sus­pects were ar­rest­ed, in­clud­ing one Arou­ca man for pos­ses­sion of a firearm and quan­ti­ty of am­mu­ni­tion.

The oth­er sus­pects were held on out­stand­ing war­rants and traf­fic of­fences.

Mean­while, in the Port of Spain Di­vi­sion, an East­er Crime Plan ex­er­cise was con­duct­ed in the Wood­brook polic­ing dis­trict be­tween 8 pm and 11:45 pm, on Thurs­day.

Dur­ing the ex­er­cise, of­fi­cers held two male sus­pects, ages 20 and 19 of Port of Spain and Laven­tille, for pos­ses­sion of two firearms and a quan­ti­ty of am­mu­ni­tion.
