Officers of the Eastern Division through the Rio Claro Police Station are pleading with anyone with useful information on marijuana farming in the district to contact them.
This follows a drug eradication exercise in the district on Monday.
The exercise, coordinated by Snr. Supt. Khan was supervised by ASP Jankee and Sgt. Maharaj and included Cpl (Ag.)
Heeraman, and PCs Billy, Rampersad, Farley, Mahabir, Singh, Gopaul and WPC Lalla of the Rio Claro Police Station along with
officers of the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) and the Air Support Unit supervised by Sgt. Forbes.
Between the hours of 5:30 am and 12:00 pm, officers proceeded to Piper Trace, Torrib Trace, Brothers Road, Rio Claro. The
officers identified and destroyed three fields containing a total of 900 fully grown marijuana trees and two camps containing
approximately 45 pounds of cured marijuana.
