Po­lice ar­rest­ed a 19-year-old man and seized two firearms along with am­mu­ni­tion dur­ing an in­tel­li­gence-led op­er­a­tion in Point Fortin on Sat­ur­day, Oc­to­ber 11, 2025.

At 3:15 p.m., of­fi­cers act­ing on in­for­ma­tion about an armed man in the School Road, Cap-de-Ville area ob­served the sus­pect near a white con­crete struc­ture. When he ran from the ap­proach­ing un­marked ve­hi­cle, of­fi­cers gave chase across mud­dy ter­rain. Dur­ing the pur­suit, an ob­ject fell from the sus­pect’s waist, and he stum­bled in the mud. Of­fi­cers re­cov­ered the ob­ject, a Glock 17 pis­tol with a mag­a­zine con­tain­ing 17 rounds of 9mm am­mu­ni­tion, lead­ing to his ar­rest for pos­ses­sion of a firearm and am­mu­ni­tion.

Lat­er that evening, at 9:15 p.m., of­fi­cers ac­com­pa­nied the sus­pect to his Lawrenceville Road res­i­dence and con­duct­ed a search un­der the Emer­gency Pow­ers Reg­u­la­tions.
