One man was ar­rest­ed, and a firearm and quan­ti­ty of am­mu­ni­tion seized dur­ing an an­ti-crime ex­er­cise con­duct­ed in the West­ern Di­vi­sion over the week­end.

The Po­lice Ser­vice re­ports that of­fi­cers of the West­ern Di­vi­sion Task Force con­duct­ed an ex­er­cise be­tween 10 am and 5 pm, on Sat­ur­day 26 No­vem­ber 2022, dur­ing which they stopped and searched a dark grey Nis­san Note mo­tor ve­hi­cle with a lone male oc­cu­pant, along the West­ern Main Road, St. James.

The search re­sult­ed in of­fi­cers find­ing one Mac11 firearm loaded with 15 rounds of am­mu­ni­tion.

A 39-year-old man of Pi­ar­co was ar­rest­ed in con­nec­tion with the find.

Dur­ing the same ex­er­cise, of­fi­cers ex­e­cut­ed search war­rants in the Diego Mar­tin dis­trict and ar­rest­ed one man for pos­ses­sion of mar­i­jua­na.
