Two men were killed in separate incidents on Tuesday night, taking this year’s murder count to 85, which is 18 less than the corresponding period last year.
In the first attack, a San Juan man was shot dead by two masked gunmen around 7.20 pm.
Police said Iyindee “Meat” Aaron, of Nicholas Trace, was at a mini-mart along Saddle Road, San Juan, playing roulette when he was killed. The gunmen then escaped in a waiting red Nissan Note. Police recovered a total of 19 spent 9mm and .357 spent shells at the scene.
Police ruled out robbery as the motive.
The second murder happened less than an hour later in Laventille.
Police reported that Kerwin “Crash” Ashton was found dead along La Resource Road.
Ashton lived at East Dry River, Port-of-Spain. No motive was given for his killing.
