A doubles vendor and her employee were tied up and robbed of thousands of dollars when four masked men stormed her home at Plymouth Road, Tobago, early yesterday morning.
Police said around 2 am, the vendor was preparing food with two workers when the bandits entered.
Two were armed with rifles, one had a cutlass, and another carried a handgun.
The intruders forced the vendor and one employee upstairs, tied them up, and ransacked two bedrooms. Out of fear, the vendor handed over $21,600 and US$100. The men also stole a digital video recorder and a cellphone before escaping on foot.
The victims later managed to free themselves with the help of other workers and contacted the police.
Officers are searching for the suspects. —Elizabeth Gonzales
