22 arrested in warrant and drug operations during SoE

Twen­ty-two peo­ple were ar­rest­ed dur­ing a se­ries of war­rant and an­ti-crime op­er­a­tions across mul­ti­ple po­lice di­vi­sions this week.

In San­gre Grande, six ar­rests were made yes­ter­day be­tween 7am and 11am as of­fi­cers ex­e­cut­ed sev­en war­rants.

In the South­ern Di­vi­sion, 14 peo­ple were held be­tween Wednes­day morn­ing and Thurs­day morn­ing for of­fences in­clud­ing rob­bery with vi­o­lence, ma­li­cious wound­ing, and pos­ses­sion of co­caine.

Two oth­er men were charged with drug traf­fick­ing af­ter sep­a­rate search­es in the Princes Town area. In one case, 11.2 grams of co­caine were seized along Na­pari­ma Ma­yaro Road. In the oth­er, of­fi­cers found 1.2 kilo­grammes of high-grade cannabis at a house on Matil­da Road.

Po­lice said both men are ex­pect­ed to ap­pear be­fore the South Mas­ter’s Court on Mon­day 4 Au­gust.

The TTPS said the ex­er­cis­es formed part of on­go­ing ef­forts to ex­e­cute out­stand­ing war­rants and dis­rupt drug net­works dur­ing the State of Emer­gency.
